thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components wins multi-million euro order for truck camshafts at Chemnitz site
Ten-year contract as a major step towards securing the location in the long term
Investments planned in the expansion of existing machinery to increase production capacity
thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components, a leading manufacturer of drive components, recently signed a ten-year contract with a well-known commercial vehicle manufacturer to supply truck camshafts at the Chemnitz site. The volume is expected to include 200,000 ready-to-install and highly efficient drive train components per year. Production will start gradually from summer 2025.
"This major order not only consolidates the company's position as an important supplier in the automotive industry, but also secures the production and development site in the heart of Chemnitz in the long term," says Christian Wippert, Managing Director of thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components in Chemnitz. To cope with the increased demand, thyssenkrupp is planning significant investments in new, additional grinding and turning lines at the site.
For the company, which already produces camshafts for cars and trucks as well as rotor shafts for electric vehicles, the order is a significant step into the future. In addition to expanding production capacities, the development department is working intensively on new products for electromobility. This orientation includes mechanical components as well as electronics and software.

With around 300 employees, the powertrain specialist is one of the most important employers in the Chemnitz region and meets the challenges of the changing automotive industry with determination and innovative strength. thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components produces 27 million drive components for combustion, hybrid and electric engines at ten locations on several continents worldwide.
