Waiblingen, July 10, 2024 - ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG has honored thyssenkrupp Presta AG as Sustainability Supplier of the Year 2023. The award ceremony took place on July 10, 2024 in the new STIHL brand world at the headquarters in Waiblingen.
The award in the "Sustainability" category was presented for the second time in a row this year. With this award, STIHL recognizes companies that are particularly committed to sustainability. Sustainability is a central component of STIHL's supply chain. The company places the same high demands on its suppliers in terms of responsible working and business practices, environmental protection and transparency as it does on itself. One of the decisive factors for the Cold Forging Operating Unit to receive the award was the goal of being climate-neutral by 2024 (Scope 1 and 2). In order to achieve this goal, various measures have been implemented in recent years, such as producing our own green energy (photovoltaics), introducing an environmental and energy management system and using waste heat.
In his speech, Martin Schwarz, STIHL Board Member for Production and Materials Management, emphasized that the success of the family-owned company is also based on reliable partnerships: "We are proud to honor thyssenkrupp Presta AG as our Sustainability Supplier of the Year 2023. Their continuous efforts to integrate sustainability in all business areas are exemplary and inspiring. Partnerships like these are key for us to achieve our own sustainability goals."
Marin Dolibasic, Vice President Global Sales Cold Forging and Alexander Wilde, Key Account / Product Manager Cold Forging at thyssenkrupp Presta AG, accepted the award. " This award is confirmation of our long-term sustainability strategy and our commitment to environmentally friendly and future-oriented solutions. Even though sustainability challenges companies, it is always an opportunity for a better future. We are delighted to receive this award and will continue to work on making our processes and products even more sustainable," emphasizes Marin Dolibasic.
STIHL and thyssenkrupp Presta AG are linked by a long-standing and successful partnership based on shared values and goals. Both companies are strongly committed to sustainable business practices and the conservation of natural resources.
